Anti-drug awareness seminar held at Tethuyo Village, Kiphire

An anti-drug awareness seminar was successfully held at Tethuyo Village, Kiphire, under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA). The programme was chaired by Jutsomong and organized by Akheda Amulung in partnership with the District Level Committee for NMBA, Kiphire. The initiative is supported by the Government of Nagaland and the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, informed a press release.

The resource person for the seminar was Tsiphu Thonger, a youth pastor, who spoke on the topic “The Effect of Drug Use/Abuse.” She explained how drug abuse not only affects the individual but also harms the family and society. She highlighted that it can lead to mental instability and stressed the importance of helping those struggling with addiction.

In the closing remarks, Apiba A. Sangtam, Treasurer of Akheda Amulung, thanked the church ministry and participants for making the event meaningful and impactful.

The event also promoted the National Toll-Free De-addiction Helpline: 14446 with the slogan: “Say No to Drugs – Yes to Life.”
