The Ao Senden has condemned the objectional posts on a Facebook group called ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ that made “despicable attempt of character assassination” on Dr S C Jamir and also made “sweeping venomous derogatory inference to immorality of Ao women in general”.
In a statement, the apex Ao organisation called out ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ for insulting the “towering full blooded Ao Naga political veteran” who is one of the architects of the State of Nagaland. The Ao Senden has directed the Administrators of the Facebook group to produce the postmaster of the “despicable post” within 7 days from 5th November 2024.
Further, it unequivocally condemned the “intolerable insult” on Ao women “based on the wild unsubstantiated observation of some individual in the last century”
The Ao Senden has asserted that it will “leave no stone unturned till this so called naga is identified and take this matter to a logical conclusion.” Meanwhile, it directed “all Ao citizens to stay alert in case of any exigency.”
Nagas of Nagaland should be mindful and vigilant of such fraudsters posing as patriots: Watsü Mungdang
The apex body of Ao Naga women, the Watsü Mungdang, has strongly objected to the post by ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ that have deliberately called Ao women promiscuous. Stating that the post was “most unfortunate and demeaning on all women, regardless of tribe or race”, the women’s organisation questioned the intellect and character of the group.
“Their feeble attempt at concealing their insinuations behind some unnamed, unknown British bureaucrat’s observations further supplements their abuse of Ao Naga women”, it stated. The Watsü Mungdang reminded of the “nightmares that Ao Naga women had to undergo during the turbulent times” and asked if any true Naga patriot would stoop so low as to call their own mothers and sisters promiscuous?
It said that the so called ‘Patriotic Nagas’ were hell- bent on further dividing the Nagas of Nagaland and cautioned the Nagas of Nagaland to be mindful and vigilant of such fraudsters posing as patriots.
Further, the Watsü Mungdang has expressed its determination to uncover the identity of ‘The Patriotic Nagas’ and to “bring them to book”. In addition, justice as per our Ao traditional customs, without compromise, will be served on the so-called “patriotic Nagas”, it said.
