Ao Students Conference (AKM) mandates shops closure on Sundays to uphold sanctity

Mokokchung: AKM urges shop owners and businesses across district to cooperate with directive

The Ao Students Conference (AKM) today issued a directive, in continuation with the previous notification Ref. No. AKM/GS/N-01/2024, urging all shop owners within the district to close their establishments on Sundays starting from March 10, 2024. The AKM stated that the decision is aimed at preserving the sanctity of Sundays and respecting the sentiments of the community, regardless of religious affiliation.

The AKM emphasized the importance of adhering to local laws and customs, underscoring the consequences that will be imposed on those who fail to comply with the directive.

Shop owners and businesses across the district are urged to cooperate with the AKM’s directive, recognizing the significance of Sunday closures in maintaining the fabric of societal traditions and respecting shared values.
