Aongsen Aier shared in his declaration speech on 22nd June, 2024 that his ambition to serve in the municipal election began a decade ago. “From 10 years back, I thought about this Municipal Election, and when I was mature enough to understand it, I wanted to dedicate my service,” he said.
Highlighting the significance of this being the first ULB election in the state, Aongsen refrained from making specific promises, expressing uncertainty about the election’s outcome. He chose the symbol of an “Envelope,” signifying his role as a “messenger of the people.” He emphasised his commitment to being a voice for the community.
“If my ward people give me the opportunity to serve them, I will be dedicated to my ward people and will be for my ward people,” Aongsen stated, urging voters to support him for progress and unity in Arkong Ward.

Addressing potential rumors, Aongsen assured his constituents of his integrity and strong relationship with God. He vowed to uphold the principles of the clean election initiative by the NBCC and ABAM. “Arkong Ward is my heart,” he declared, promising to continue advocating against wrongdoings regardless of the election result.
Aongsen’s vision for Arkong Ward includes:

- Initiating innovative waste management solutions.
- Judiciously implementing centrally sponsored schemes.
- Promulgating local entrepreneurship.
- Fostering community engagement and inclusivity.

The event saw speeches from well-wishers and family members, who extended their best wishes for Aongsen’s candidacy. Deacon Sashi MTBA led the program and offered prayers for the candidate.
