Aotemulung Monolith was inaugurated today at Akangkong Süngküm, Mopungchuket, by Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The event featured Aotemulung folk songs performed by Medemsanger Putu and a cultural street dance.
In his address, Sharingain Longkumer assured a helping hand in the near future, emphasizing unity between Mopungchuket and Ungma. He expressed gratitude to Medemsanger Putu and the Mopungchuket Village Council, pledging assistance for future endeavors. Highlighting the collaborative nature of parliamentary democracy, Longkumer stated that elected representatives work together for their constituents’ welfare, and quoted, ‘there is always success in collective effort.’

The Ungma Village Council confirmed the significance of Aotemulung and emphasized the enduring unity among the villages of Mopungchuket and Ungma, despite belonging to different ranges. They encouraged ongoing efforts to uplift this unity.
The second session, chaired by Akumyanger Lemtur at Yimyong Moapu, featured a welcome address by Imyumeren, Tatar. Meyitemsü Ozüküm, the initiator of the Monolith, shared words of dedication. Guru S. Pangyang Ozüküm presented “Ni Aotemulung,” and a cultural performance titled “Antepong Mechitep” was showcased by Mejensanger.
