Aphuyemi FC crowned Champions of Nagaland Futsal Club Championship 2025

The 4th Edition of the Nagaland Futsal Club Championship (NFCC) 2025 concluded in spectacular fashion with a grand closing ceremony and a thrilling final match at the Futsal Centre, Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence, Sovima, Chümoukedima on March 22, informed a press release.

The closing ceremony, which began at 7:30 PM, was chaired by Imli Sunup, Joint Secretary of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) and Co-Convener of NFCC. The event was graced by Dr. Watizulu Jamir, Chairman of the Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) and Vice President of the Badminton Association of India (BAI), who in his address highlighted the importance of sports in youth development and state-building.

The program featured welcome address by Mughato Aye, Vice President of the NFA, a special performance by T. Wongyinla Yimkhiung, and a benediction by Tali Moa Jamir, Associate Pastor (Youth), Ao Baptist Church Diphupar-A.  Following the formal program, the much-anticipated final match saw  former Champion,  Aphuyemi FC (Zunheboto) re-claim the championship title after defeating defending Champion, Nyenshen FC (Tuensang) in a gripping encounter that ended 7–4.

The match, which kicked off at 8:40 PM, showcased fast-paced futsal action, tactical brilliance, and high-level competitiveness from both sides. Aphuyemi FC’s attacking prowess and composure under pressure secured their place as Champions of the 2025 edition, to represent the state in this year’s edition of the national tournament.

Tbe winning team walked away with a cash prize of Rs. 1 Lakh while the runner-up team was awarded Rs. 50,000. Organized under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association, the tournament continues to grow in scale and impact each year, serving as a platform for discovering and nurturing futsal talent across the state. With participation from top clubs across Nagaland, this year’s edition has set a new benchmark for competitive futsal in the region.
