The Naga People’s Front held its General Convention-cum-6th Foundation Day on 21st October 2023 at Capital Cultural Hall, Kohima where its longest serving president Dr Shürhozelie Liezietsu was officially replaced by new NPF President Apong Pongener.
In the convention, the party also adopted a six-point resolution where it acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing president “who has sacrificed for the Party for the past 50 plus years.” It also accepted the Central Office Bearers and Central Frontals for the tenure 2024- 2028 as elected by the Central Election Board and work with Party discipline under the new President.

The Convention further upheld the Leadership of Küzhulozo Azo Nienu as the Leader of the NPF Legislature Party.
The party thanked and appreciated its Manipur State Unit for its constant support and also its “well-wishers across the length and breadth of the contiguous Naga inhabited areas and beyond for their unceasing support to the NPF through thick and thin and appeal to support even in the days to come.”
The Convention re-affirmed its earlier resolutions for an honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution to the protracted Naga Political Issue and called upon the Naga people to be “conscious of our political history and work cohesively towards achieving our goal through peaceful means.”
