Appeal for prayer in Naga areas on May 18

The Naga tribal hohos and Naga political groups (NPGs) have appealed to all apex church associations/councils in Naga areas for prayer on May 18 (Sunday).

The Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), in a press release on Monday informed that the resolve to make an appeal for prayer by the NPGs and tribal hohos was made during a meeting on May 5 and 6 at Pruzie, Kohima.

The release underscored four prayer points – to humble oneself before God and extol him with thanksgiving and praise (Psalm 95); Nagas though scattered in different regions, must recognize the sovereignty of God over the destiny of all the peoples (Acts 17:26) and give thanks that “we are a unique people in God’s sight, created and redeemed for God’s glory”;

remember ‘All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23), and in sincerity, confess shortcomings, wrongdoings and all evil committed before God and to one other, and ask forgiveness from God and from each other; and plead with God with one heart and mind to hear our prayer of lament.

“True, lasting peace has eluded our lands for more than 75 years. Let us seek God’s intervention in the impending Naga political situation. Let us plead that God will act not because we are righteous but for his name’s sake and enduring mercy, He will hear our prayer and intervene. (Dan 9: 18,19),” read another point for prayer.
