Living upto the motto ‘Friends of the North East’, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), distributed four computers, fifty vollyballs, fifty footballs, ten volleyball nets and fifty plastic chairs to the villagers of 26 villages of Peren district. The distribution was conducted at Tening on February 14, informed a press release by HQ IGAR (N).
Recognizing the importance of holistic development, the initiative aimed to promote physical fitness and enhance access to digital education among villagers. According to the press release, the distribution event, held at Tening, was attended by 185 villagers from various villages in Tening sub division and was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from villagers who welcomed the support provided by Assam Rifles.

By equipping communities with these resources, Assam Rifles reaffirmed its commitment to fostering inclusive growth and nurturing talent among the youth in the region. Assam Rifles remains dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and opportunities for residents in rural areas, reflecting its ethos of service and empowerment, stated the press release.
According to the Assam Rifles, it has not only been restoring peace and tranquility in the insurgency ridden north eastern states of India, but has also been instrumental in reaching out and extending all possible assistance to the minority and otherwise neglected strata of local populace located in remotest parts of the region to ensure overall upliftment.
