The Arju Camp 2025, organized by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM), concluded on March 14 with a comprehensive review of activities and Action Plan for the 12 Arju Centres. The three-day camp, which began on March 12, aimed at fostering education, skill development, and community engagement among students.
The culmination program on the final day featured presentations by mentors from each Arju Centre, highlighting achievements, challenges, and future proposals for the 2025-2026 session. The review session was attended by Sentinenla, District Education Officer (DEO) of Mokokchung; Tia Mollier, Associate Professor at Fazl Ali College; Takatoshi, Youth Director of Marepkong Youth Department; AKM officials; and Arju students.
During the session, mentors detailed their efforts in remedial education, vocational training, art and craft, environmental initiatives, community service, self-sustaining education and sports programs. The review panel, along with AKM officials, provided critical feedback to enhance the quality of education and skill-building initiatives. Several key areas were identified for improvement, including strengthening remedial classes, refining vocational training, addressing infrastructure needs, and increasing community participation. The 2025-2026 roadmap emphasized the need to raise the standard of learning, equip students with practical skills, and create more self-sustaining educational models.
Mentors were urged to take ownership of their roles as educators and cultural ambassadors, ensuring that the Arju Centres evolve into hubs of knowledge, skill-building, and leadership within their respective communities.
In recognition of outstanding contributions, the Longpayimsen Arju Centre was awarded 1st place as the Best Performing Arju Centre, while Waromung and Mongsenyimti Arju Centres secured 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Other Arju Centres were encouraged to continue their commitment, explore innovative ideas, and work towards uplifting their centres to new levels of excellence.
