VAS Jakhama, Dr. Menguzenuo Chielie, along with paravets from the Veterinary Dispensary and VHC Kigwema, conducted disinfection and containment measures in ASF-affected farms at Kigwema and Mitelephe villages on August 14.

Addressing village leaders and farmers, Dr. Chielie highlighted the importance of the ASF guidelines and informed that both villages have been declared infected zones by the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima. She stressed the need for community cooperation and prompt reporting to contain the outbreak effectively.

It was also recalled that a block-level sensitisation and awareness training on ASF was held on July 15, attended by representatives from all villages under Jakhama block.
