ASF detected in Kohima, DC issues restrictions

Following the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) cases at P Khel, Kohima village under Kohima district, Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B Henok Buchem informed that affected areas have been classified into two categories for containment and control of disease.

Infected Zone :  P Khel, Kohima Village, covering a 1 km radius of the infected premises.

Surveillance Zone : A 10 km radius from the infected premises, excluding the 1 km infected zone.

To prevent further spread of ASF, the following restrictions will remain in force within the notified areas until further orders: Ban on slaughter of pigs, Ban on import and export of pigs and piglets, and Ban on transportation of pigs and pork.
