On his first visit to Kiphire – the Aspirational District of Nagaland – today, Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fishery, Animal and Dairying proudly lauded the Initiative of Aspirational Districts Model introduced under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Union Minister stated that the Aspirational District model has been appreciated globally.

It is through this model that the GoI is trying to bridge a gap of economic development between different districts of India, as only when the lacking districts are lifted can India progress ahead, he stated.

Adding that 15 Mobile Veterinary Units have been flagged off today by PM Modi through the Chief Minister in the state capital, Rupala said the Central government was further committed to providing the Mobile Veterinary Units to all the states in India soon.

Rupala exhorted people to engage in animal husbandry and avail schemes as this can become a good income generating activity for people to be involved in. The technological advancement further provides more facilities to people engaged in such work, he added.

Lauding the GoI for providing 50% Subsidies under his department’s schemes, Rupala said India has never witnessed such a huge subsidy provided by any government in the past decades.

With majority of the population in Nagaland being non-vegetarian, he added that the state has paramount advantage in this sector which will help boost its economy.

The central government has high hopes and expectations from the officers and workers in charge of all aspirational districts in India as they are the ones with huge responsibility in bringing India to the forefront, stated the Union Minister.

DC Kiphire Wati Aier added that the district is trying its level best in making progress under the Aspirational District programme and thanked the GoI for its concern and commitment towards the needs of the district.
