The Assam Rifles, in collaboration with CATC 50 of the 25 NL NCC Battalion (Kohima Group), marked the 10th International Yoga Day at the Wokha Garrison. The personnel from the Assam Rifles and National Cadet Corps cadets engaged in a thorough yoga session guided by seasoned instructors.
The participants were taught on various asanas like Lotus Pose, Suryanamaskar, Camel Pose, Child Pose, Natarajasana, Warrior 1 Pose, Extended Traingle, Butterfly Pose, Intense Side Strength Pose, Reverse Plank Pose followed by Shave Asana.
The celebration underscored the significance of yoga in enhancing physical fitness and mental well-being, while fostering unity and harmony among participants. Commandants from both organisations commended the joint initiative, highlighting yoga’s role in promoting a healthy and disciplined lifestyle.
Across the country, eight lakh NCC cadets celebrated the 10th International Day of Yoga by participating in yoga sessions organised by NCC.
Addressing the cadets at the Cariappa Parade Ground, Delhi Cantt, the DG NCC NCC Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh extolled the benefits of yoga and urged them to incorporate the practice in their daily routines to sustain physical and mental health.
“Yoga is an immensely powerful tool for augmenting our overall health and well-being. It ensures the harmony of body and mind, which is paramount for the holistic development of our youth,” he added.
