The Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles, under the aegis of IGAR (North), helped villagers of New Jalukie rebuild their damaged homes in the aftermath of the recent thunderstorms in the region. The natural disaster on 2 April 2023 caused widespread damage to homes, leaving many families without shelter.
On Wednesday, the army personnel stepped up to assist the villagers repairing and reconstructing their damaged houses. The Jalukie Battalion also provided essential commodities to the affected community.
A statement from the Assam Rifles stated that its personnels have been working closely with volunteers to ensure medical aid is distributed efficiently and effectively. A total of 18 houses were assisted by the Assam Rifles troops.

The efforts and assistance of the AR to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the thunderstorm was appreciated by the village authorities.
The initiative and efforts in helping the affected community in rebuilding their home demonstrated the commitment of Assam Rifles to serve the Hill People during time of crisis.
