The Assam Rifles conducted a medical Camp on October 26 at Choklangan village under the initiative “Spreading the Smiles across the border”.
A total 160 civilians were treated by the medical team of Assam Rifles under the Doctor and its medical team of Assam Rifles. A press release by the Assam Rifles stated that Choklangan Village under Noklak district is a remote village with their access to the nearest medical facility at Noklak town. The press release noted that the distance and remote location makes it difficult for villagers who often suffer from lack of medical facilities in the area. “The villagers gathered in large numbers for the medical treatment of sick and ailing people.This gesture of the Assam Rifles further strengthens the bond between the Assam Rifles and the local community, showcasing their commitment to the people of Nagaland and bringing smiles to the faces of the people,” stated the Assam Rifles.

Apart from providing medical assistance, basic knowledge on health education including precautions from common diseases was also imparted to the gathering. The medical team also elaborated on the significance of hygiene and sanitation to the villagers for better living standards.
