The Assam Rifles in collaboration with the District Hospital, Peren organised a Mega Medical Camp at Christian School in Old Tesen village, Peren District on Friday. The camp was conducted with the aim to provide medical aid and consultation to the villagers who have limited access to healthcare facilities.
The medical camp was attended by a large number of villagers from the surrounding areas.
A team of doctors from District Hospital, Peren along with doctors, nurses and paramedical staff from Assam Rifles provided consultation and treatment for various ailments and health problems. The team included specialists in fields of Otolaryngology, Dermatology and General Medicine along with an Ophthalmology technician.
The medical team ensured that all necessary precautions and safety protocols were followed while conducting the health checks. The Assam Rifles provided logistical support, doctors and medical staffs, assistance in setting up the camp and free medicines.
In addition to medical consultations and treatments, the camp also had a team of healthcare professionals who educated the people about various health issues and provided them with tips on maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The AR informed that the medical camp benefitted approximately 482 villagers and 105 children and that the efforts of the Assam Rifles medical team were greatly appreciated by the local people of the village, GBs, CSO and District officials.
Assam Rifles is committed to support the local communities in the remote areas of the state, and this medical camp is a part of the ongoing efforts, it further stated.
