Assam Rifles has launched a new medical service in Nyasa village in Mon district. The service was initiated in the remote village that lacked local medical facilities with the nearest dispensary was a gruelling five-hour journey away, posing a serious challenge for the residents of Nyasa and three other neighbouring villages, the Assam Rifles said in a press release.
The new service was inaugurated on 29th November 2023 by a local Pastor and Head Gaon Bura.
Following the inauguration, a health checkup camp was organized where the height and weight of the children were measured. Parents were also informed about the health status of their children, with special attention given to identifying malnourished kids.
The Assam Rifles informed that the new service aims to provide immediate medical attention to patients in case of emergencies, allowing them to be stabilized before evacuation. It is equipped with facilities for oxygen support, Sp02 check-ups, shell dressing, and blood pressure monitoring, etc.
