The Miao Battalion/Zunheboto of HQ 25 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), distributed and installed the solar street lights for the Villagers of Suruhoto village in Zunheboto district on 9 February 2023.

The Village Council, expressing its gratitude to the Miao Battalion, said that the installations will make the streets of Suruhoto safer and also help in smoother movement of vehicles, especially in times of emergencies.

The Council also said that the solar lights will aid in making the village more secure as in the past anti-social elements have created many untoward incidences in the cover of darkness. Life of the villagers will also be eased with the help of the Assam Rifles as the area suffer from acute power shortage.

It is reported that the Assam Rifles have arranged for the vendor to take complete responsibility for the installation and maintenance of the solar lights.
