Assam Rifles organizes Motorcycle Rally in Kohima to commemorate 25 Years of Vijay Diwas

The Assam Rifles in collaboration with motorcycle clubs and enthusiasts from Kohima, organized a motorcycle rally to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Vijay Diwas, a day of great historical significance commemorating India’s victory in the Kargil Conflict. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the Assam Rifles and the local community with KK Motors Kohima, Nagaland Motorcycle Club (Kohima Chapter) and Axor Club fielding in their participation, informed a press release issued by the Assam Rifles.

Brig S K Palande, Deputy Inspector General (Assam Rifles – North) graced the event as the chief guest. In his address, he highlighted the indomitable spirit of the Indian Armed Forces and the sacrifices made during the Kargil War. He acknowledged that the freedom we cherish today is owed to the courage and dedication of our soldiers. Each breath of free air we take is a testament to their sacrifice, said Brig Palande.

Following his speech, he along with the parents of Capt Kenguruse, MVC (P) flagged off the rally. The rally covered a distance of 24 kilometers, culminating at the War Memorial of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC(P)  at Nerhema. Here, a solemn wreath-laying and homage ceremony took place, paying tribute to Captain Kenguruse, whose extraordinary valor and sacrifice continue to inspire.

At the conclusion of the rally at Chieswema, the civilian participants were felicitated by Brig JBS Rathi, DIG 5 Sector Assam Rifles. He expressed heartfelt gratitude for their spirit of adventure, patriotism, and commitment towards national integration. The motorcycle rally not only served as a reminder of the sacrifices made during the Kargil Conflict but also reinforced the enduring spirit of unity and patriotism among the citizens, informed the press release.
