Assam Rifles Presents Kohima’s Got Talent in Commemoration of 77th Independence Day

Kohima: Acknowledging the exceptional talents displayed, the event’s winners were awarded substantial cash prizes

Under the auspices of HQ IGAR (N) and in collaboration with Brillante Management, the Assam Rifles orchestrated the captivating event “Kohima’s Got Talent.” Held at the State Academy Hall, the event was a vibrant tribute in alignment with the celebration of the 77th Independence Day, echoing the resonating theme of “Nation First, Always First.”

The distinguished presence of Gen. Vikas Lakhera, SM, IG, IGAR (N), as the esteemed Special Guest, added an aura of prestige to the proceedings.

The fervor of artistic expression filled the hall as participants showcased their talents with enthusiasm. Among the solo voice performances, Putimen Longkumer claimed victory, while Pfutsuvielo Ledu and Tajenyubakitchutzar secured the second and third positions respectively. In the realm of Solo Dance, Dipendra claimed the coveted first place, while Poping Chuba and Rohan Sharma earned the second and third positions. The dynamic Group Dance category saw “The Dragz” and “DSS Crew” shine as the first and second prize winners.

The solo voice competition was meticulously adjudicated by a panel of esteemed judges, including Khyochano TCK Ngully, a multifaceted personality with roles spanning pianist, composer, conductor, and folk music researcher. Also part of the jury was Surbhi Gurung, a representative of Trinity College London, and Vimezo Iralu, a prominent vocalist and faculty member of Nagaland College of Music and Fine Arts. The Dance category found its expert judges in Spraha Verma from Madi, Himachal, Lamgrace Touthang, World of Dance winner and founder of MYC Lamgrace Dance Studio, and Akehoto Yeptho, a seasoned choreographer at Ethnic Future and Nagaland Folkloric.

Acknowledging the exceptional talents displayed, the event’s winners were awarded substantial cash prizes. The victorious soloists received cash rewards of ₹10,000, ₹5,000, and ₹3,000 respectively, while the triumphant Group Dance winners were granted ₹20,000 and ₹10,000.

With a diverse range of participants spanning children, teenagers, and young adults, the competition fostered an inclusive environment aimed at nurturing and promoting the artistic talents flourishing within Kohima.

The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, featuring the participation of 130 individuals across various categories. Steering the event’s proceedings was Ruth Longkumer, adding her adept touch as the chairperson.

In this celebration of artistic prowess, the collaboration between Assam Rifles and Brillante Management reverberated as a harmonious endeavor to amplify the creative voices of Kohima, resonating with the essence of independence and unity.
