Assam Rifles recover huge haul of weapons in Mon district, close Indo-Myanmar border

Kohima: One individual arrested during operation, in police custody

The Assam Rifles have said that it has recovered a “huge quantity of heavy calibre military grade weapons, equipment and war like stores” in Mon district, Nagaland, close to India’s border with Myanmar.

In a post on X, the security force stated that the recoveries include: “11 x 82 mm Mortar tubes, 04 x 106 mm tubes, 10 x Pistols, 198 Hand Held Radio Sets, one Satellite Phone, one Kenbo bike, one Bolero vehicle and other war like stores.”

The Assam Rifles also said that one individual has been apprehended during the operation and has been handed over to the police for interrogation

“Successful operation by #AssamRifles as part of Border Sealing have dealt a big blow to nefarious designs of inimical elements to undertake subversive activities in the the region,” it added.
