ATMA Peren, Ahthibung block conducted two Demonstration programs and three Capacity Building Programs at Vongkithem and Phaijol, Ahthibung Peren on 27th and 28th October 2023. The resource persons were Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Functionaries Lireni Lotha, Keneingunuo Sorhei and Kevingulie.

ATMA Peren informed in a press release that ATM Lireni Lotha conducted Demonstrations on “Seed treatment of Pea (Pisum Sativum) with Rhizobium Leguminosarum & Phosphatica” at Vongkithem and “Bio-fertilizer application in Pea and Onion” at Phaijol village. She gave a brief introduction of bio-fertilizer, its benefits, precautions to keep in mind during handling before the practical demonstration of Seed Treatment & Bulb Treatment of Pea, Onion and Ginger Rhizomes with respective bio-fertilizers.

ATM Keneingunuo conducted two Capacity Building programs on the topics, “Preparation of Ginger Candy” at Vongkithem village & “Value Addition in Brinjal: Preparation of Brinjal Pickle” at Phaijol village to SHG groups attending the program. Practical demonstrations of the preparations were illustrated from scratch making use of preservatives. Cost benefit ratio of the preparations was also briefed to the farmers.

ATM Kevingulie conducted one Capacity Building Program on “Detergent Making” at Phaijol. Making use of Detergent making kit availed from a distributor; a step-by-step demonstration of detergent powder preparation was undertaken by Kevingulie. The participants actively took part in mixing the solutions to prepare the detergent powder.

Altogether, 40 farmers attended the programs from both the villages, ATMA Peren stated. Onion, pea and coriander seeds and samples of biofertilizers, preservatives used, spices used during demonstration and capacity building program were also distributed to the farmers.
