ATMA Peren Ahthibung Block organises capacity building workshops

ATMA Peren, Ahthibung Block on April 11, organized a Within District Training on, ‘Multilayer Farming’ and capacity building on dessert making at Songlhuh Village. On the same day a demonstration on, “Rice soap making” and another capacity building program on “Oyster mushroom Cultivation” at Inbung Village was conducted.

The event was chaired by Lhaihoichong and the resource Persons were ATMA functionaries, informed a press release by the ATMA Peren. The program started with a welcome address by the chairperson with brief speech on the purpose of visit.

At Songlhuh Village, during the technical session Kevingulie, ATM trained the farmers on how to profitably utilize the land resources using the technique of the unique cropping system called ‘Multilayer Cropping’ by integrating crops of different height and companion crops together with an aim for economic upgrade. With an aim to equip the local farmers with the idea of entrepreneurship, Keneingunuo Sorhie ATM taught the participants how to prepare basic desserts with fruits available in the village by making use of Milk, cream, nuts, Chat masala etc. as a part of Capacity Building program.

At Inbung Village, Lireni Lotha ATM trained the participants on the method of Oyster Mushroom Cultivation, as a part of skill upgradation program. A hands on demonstration took place where everyone present took part in the activity of chopping, cleaning, sterilization, packaging etc. A demonstration on “Rice Soap making” was also conducted by Lireni, making use of caustic soda as base, Rice powder, coconut oil, lavender essence and food colour.

During the visit “Seed money” was given to a new  group, Molhoi SHG at Inbung village. The program ended with refreshment and photo session. Samples of  Seeds, milk cream, vanilla essence, nuts etc  were distributed at Songlhuh village and at  Inbung,

 

Mushroom spawns, oil, caustic soda, lavender essence, and soap samples were distributed  to the participants.
