The Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) witnessed a solemn and inspiring Attestation Parade for newly inducted Male and Female Recruits (GD) marking their formal induction into the Assam Rifles on January 31 at ARTC&S, Sukhovi, Chumoukidima.
A total of 282 recruits, including 36 Mahila recruits, marched with impeccable rhythm and synchronization during the special attestation parade held to mark the successful completion of 44 weeks of rigorous training. The training encompassed battle craft, weapon handling, jungle lane shooting, and specialization in counter-insurgency operations. The parade was led by Captain Anjali Kirola.
Addressing the recruits, Maj Gen JS Bainsla, Additional Director General of Assam Rifles highlighted the rich legacy of the Assam Rifles, the country’s oldest paramilitary force, and its multifaceted role in safeguarding the nation. He underscored the growing contribution of Rifle women, who have been inducted into frontline duties since 2015 and have demonstrated exemplary performance not only in the North East but also in Jammu & Kashmir, United Nations Missions, and prestigious Republic Day Parades in 2019 and 2023.

He noted that the presence of women soldiers in frontline roles strengthens security and furthers the vision of a women-empowered India.
The Reviewing Officer exhorted the recruits to serve the nation with sincerity, discipline, and professionalism while keeping pace with evolving technology. The newly attested Rifles and Rifle women will now join their respective units across various operational sectors, contributing to national security and frontline duties.
Maj Gen Bainsla also congratulated the recruits and their proud parents on the successful completion of training and wished them success and happiness in all future endeavours.
During the ceremony, recruits were also recognized for their outstanding performance. Overall Best Recruit (Best in Physical & Firing) was bagged by GD Appu Chakma; Overall Second Best Recruit by GD (Mahila) T Maloti Devi; and the Best in Drill was bagged by GD Bikash Mandal.
