The Valedictory Function on Awareness Campaign on National Clean Air Programme (NCAP) was held at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur with Thungchanbemo Tungoe, CEO, DMC as the Special Guest on today. The event was organised by the District Administration, Dimapur in Collaboration with LFI Dimapur and Breeze Women Welfare Association (BWWA) under the Theme: ‘Celebrating International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies’.
The CEO, DMC, in his speech, highlighted that around 9 lakh children die annually from breathing unclean air and urged the students to give important to air quality and make efforts to keep the it clean by planting more trees at schools and home. Tungoe also reminded the students to make use of bicycles, cloth bags while going to the market and to turn off the electricity when not in use. He also appealed to the gathering to be more practical in our duties and responsibilities for a better future.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur, Zakabo Rotokha, in his speech, informed that Dimapur tops the air pollution ranking in Nagaland and emphasised the need for coordinated efforts in to improve the air quality in the district.
The closing remarks was delivered by Imlijungla Lemtur, EAC Dimapur. Earlier, the invocation was pronounced by Zhimoholi S. Zhimomi, Chaplain, LFI followed by special number by Ravineizo Rio, LFI and declaration of the Inter-School Competitions.
Liniu Achumi (Grade-8) of Charis High Academy begged 1st position in the Essay Competitions and Tolivi K. Wotsa (Grade 12) of Assembly of God Higher Secondary School begged 1st position in Slogan writing competition. The 1st position in the Poster Making Competition was bagged by Etoka (Grade 12) of Cornerstone Hr. Secondary School while the Model Exhibition Competition was bagged by Bethesda Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
