Under the Ministry of MSME Government of India, the MSME Development & Facilitation Office Dimapur in association with department of Industries & Commerce, Nagaland and District Administration organised one day awareness cum GP onboarding camp on PM Vishwakarma on February 6,2025 at DC conference hall, Wokha.
The awareness programme was attended by Village Council Chairman’s (VCCs) from three Blocks under Wokha, Chukitong and Wozhuro block.
Addressing during the programme the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Vineet Kumar (IAS) said that the scheme was introduced by the Government of India to enable the recognition of artisans and craftsmen and craftspeople on various trades, and to provide skill upgradation to hone their skills and make relevant and suitable training opportunities available to them through various trainings programmes.
Stating verification of applicants is very important, the DC urged the VCCs to select and recommend genuine applicants and beneficiaries so that not only the applicants but the community gets maximum benefit out of this scheme.

L.L.Victoria, Consultant Ernest & Young Company, PM Vishwakarma (PMU) highlighted to the trainees about guidelines to be followed in the implementation of the scheme. She informed that under this scheme the following traditional trades has been identified for the beneficiaries, namely: boat maker, armourer, blacksmith, hammer & toolkits, locksmith, sculptor, goldsmith, basket/mat/broom/coir weaving, cobbler, potter, doll & toy maker, garland maker & barber, fishing net and washer man.
She also informed the beneficiaries/applicants to do onboarding in co-ordination with the District Implementing Committee by providing verify Aadhar seeded names and mobile numbers to be uploaded in the eGramswaraj portal.
Later in the day, five (5) beneficiaries who underwent training under carpentry were handed over toolkits by the Deputy Commissioner.
