Awareness program on Cyber Crime held at Kohima Science College Jotsoma

The Anti-Sexual Harassment Cell of Kohima Science College Jotsoma, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized an awareness program on cyber crime at the college auditorium on September 21. Vizhatuo Michael Yhome, Addl. S.P. Cyber Crime, PHQ, Kohima was the resource person for the program.

Yhome provided an in-depth overview of various cyber crime scenarios in Nagaland, including financial frauds, social media crimes, identity theft, phishing, hacking, and cyber-bullying. He highlighted the growing risks in the digital space and emphasized the need for vigilance. Practical online safety tips, avoiding suspicious links, and reporting suspicious activity were further highlighted. He encouraged everyone to adopt these measures for a safer and more secure online community.

The program was chaired by Venolu Kezo, Associate Professor, Dept. of Zoology and Dr. Temjenwabang, Principal delivered welcome address. The program concluded with a vote of thanks pronounced by Sangeeta Vizo, Associate Professor Dept. of Chemistry. The event saw active participation from both teaching faculty and students, contributing to a successful and informative session on an increasingly critical issue in today’s digital age.
