The District Child Protection Unit, Tseminyu organized an awareness session on “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013” for all the DCPU and Child helpline Staff, Tseminyu on September 19.
The session was led by Adv Neivotuonuo Rutsa, Legal-cum-Probation Officer (LCPO), DCPU Tseminyu. She highlighted that compliance with the POSH Act is not optional, it is mandatory. “A safe workplace is not a privilege, it is every woman’s right,” she said.
She explained that the POSH Act was enacted to provide a safe and secure workplace environment for women and to address complaints of sexual harassment.
She elaborated on the procedures under the POSH Act, including filing complaints, inquiry processes and remedial actions. She also introduced “SHe-Box” (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box), an online platform where women employees can file complaints of workplace harassment directly and encouraged participants to visit the SHe-Box website to register complaints and track their status.

It was also informed during the session that the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the DCPU Tseminyu has been constituted to address sexual harassment complaints at the workplace.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion, urging all participants to be aware of their rights and responsibilities under the Act and to promote safe and respectful workplaces.
