A controversy has erupted in Kohima after a picture of a United Bakery product with an advanced manufacturing date went viral on social media. The bakery, located in New Ministers Hill, Kohima, has been accused of selling products with manipulated dates.

On inquiry, the bakery owner, Matab Uddin claimed that the advanced manufacturing date was requested by a client in Pfutsero.

This claim, however, sparks question on the safety and quality of the products.

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has strict guidelines regarding food labeling and date marking. Selling products with advanced manufacturing dates is a violation of these regulations and can lead to serious consequences, including fines and even closure of the bakery.

The incident has raised concerns about food safety in Kohima, and many are calling for stricter enforcement of food safety regulations.
