BAMD condemns murder of basketball player in Kohima

The Basketball Association Mokokchung District (BAMD) has expressed shock and grief at the tragic incident in Kohima on October 25, where a 22-year-old woman, a member of the basketball fraternity, a young and upcoming player and state representative, was found murdered.

BAMD strongly condemned this senseless act of violence that has cut short a young life full of potential. Meanwhile, the Association welcomed the formation of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case and urged the government and police authorities to ensure that the investigation is thorough, transparent, uncompromising, so that justice is delivered to the victim and her family.

The Association also appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information and to cooperate with the ongoing investigation.

As the Association mourned her untimely demise, BAMD extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, her teammates, and the basketball fraternity of Nagaland.
