Basic Baking Workshop concludes in Noklak

The District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW) under Mission Shakti, Social Welfare Department, and the flagship Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, recently concluded a highly successful 2-day Basic Baking Workshop. The program provided participants with a valuable trade and a clear path toward self-reliance.

​Held on November 28 and 29, the workshop aimed to instill practical, income-generating capabilities. Expert trainer Tsumon Sk led the sessions, meticulously covering the fundamentals of baking, including proper cake mixing, essential techniques, and decoration skills.

​Participants eagerly engaged in hands-on learning, mastering the creation of a variety of treats such as cookies, custard, sponge cakes, and cupcakes. All necessary equipment was supplied by the District Hub, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience.

The event was graced by Ajongla Temjen , District Programme Officer (DPO) and Emlitenzuk, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), who delivered inspiring addresses. DPO emphasized the significance of building women’s capabilities, stating that it is crucial for achieving financial freedom and contributing to the family’s well-being.

CDPO lauded the District Hub’s efforts, highlighting the positive impact of such skill-acquisition programs on women’s lives and the community at large.

The DPO encouraged participants to leverage such opportunities to develop their skills and become self-reliant, while CDPO appreciated the District Hub’s initiative, stating that it would go a long in promoting women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship.

The workshop proved a resounding success, with participants taking home not only their baked goods but also newfound confidence and passion.

​The District Hub reaffirmed its commitment to diversifying skill-development programs to foster a brighter, more financially secure future for women in the district.
