Students from BC Olive School, Kiphire, received a unique hands-on lesson in community safety and emergency response during their educational field trip to the Fire Station Kiphire today.

The visit was organized to complement their classroom learning on community helpers and safety measures, giving students a firsthand understanding of the vital role firefighters play in protecting lives and property.

Officer in-Charge of Fire Station Kiphire, Tsarose S Sangtam, welcomed the students and highlighted the importance of the Nagaland Fire Service Act 2023.

He encouraged schools to install Fixed Fire Fighting systems in school buildings and assured technical assistance related to fire safety.

Sangtam also led the students on an informative tour of the facility, where they observed firefighting equipment, appliances, and even tried on protective gear.

A key highlight of the visit was the live demonstration and lecture conducted by ASI Meyielemba Jamir and ASI Khariba T Sangtam. They demonstrated key firefighting techniques, such as spraying water from hosepipes and using different types of fire extinguishers.
