Bhandari: House resolves to urge government to establish a Sub-Divisional Fishery Office at Bhandari

The monthly Sub-Divisional Planning and Developmental Board of Bhandari was held under the chairmanship of MLA and Chairman SDPDB, Achumbemo Kikon at the Conference Hall of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Bhandari on 8th March 2024.

According to DIPR, during the meeting the House discusses the advantages and disadvantages of communitised system of power consumption and billing method, and enforcing effective system of revenue collection by Power Department and reiterated that the department should not be at loss of revenue and that, consumers should be sensitized on responsible and judicious use of electricity power and systematic payment of electricity bills to benefit all stakeholders.

Pertaining to the proposed construction of Bhandari Town Council Office cum Sub-Divisional and Planning Board Conference Hall, the House expressed dismay and stated that there is shortage of land due to which construction of the same is delayed despite urgent need.

Emphasising that Bhandari sub-division is the biggest fish farming bloc of Wokha district, with laden economic potentials, the House resolved to urge the government to establish a Sub-Divisional Fishery Office at Bhandari since it is functioning under DFO, Wokha, currently.

The House also reiterated and urged for the reopening of the SBI Champang HQ branch, to which, Lead Bank Manager, Wokha, informed that logistical survey would be completed by the month of May.

Highlighting on the present state of the Wokha-Bokajan-Road, where the entire Ralan area is stated to be cut off from the Wokha district Head Quarter, due to washing away of a stretch of road between Yankeli Village and N. Longchum Village, Achumbemo Kikon, along with the PWD (R&B) stated that remedial measures would be initiated as soon as possible to address the grievances of the public of the areas.
