Bhandari Town celebrates 45th Tokhu Emong festival

Bhandari: Celebration witnesses traditional dance and folk song presented by Eleo Hoho Bhandari and Bhandari village

Bhandari Town celebrated 45th Tokhu Emong festival at Bhandari Local ground under the theme “marching forward in unity” on 7th November 2024 with T. Yanpvunthung Kikon NCS, Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & SCERT as Special Guest.

Speaking during the programme, Kikon wished the community prosperity and urged the gathering to prevail in the sense of forgiveness, love and strengthening relationships

He also said that we are blessed with rich cultural heritage that everyone should practice and preserved.

Earlier in the programme, Rev. Wosamo Humtso shared the Tokhu Emong festival history and the practices by Lotha ancestors. Short greeting was delivered by Rev. Father, Victor Renthungo Odyuo, Diocese Kohima.

The celebration witnessed a traditional dance and folk song presented by Eleo Hoho Bhandari and Bhandari village.

The day’s event ended with tug-of-war where the 45 Assam Raffles emerged champion.
