The 61st Nagaland Statehood day was celebrated at the Raj Bhavan, Patna, Bihar where members of Nagaland Medical Students Union Bihar were invited to attend the celebration by the Governor of Bihar Rajendra Vishnwanath Arlekar.
Speaking on behalf of the students and Nagas , Dr Nyemwang Konyak, Senior Resident NMCH Patna conveyed his appreciation to the Governor for inviting the students to be a part of the celebration. “We all have to embrace each other despite our many differences. The 61st statehood day is indeed very special as Nagaland now has a medical college after being recognised as the only state in India without a medical college for a very long time,” said Dr. Konyak.

Meanwhile, Along Imchen, Proprietor of Auxin Educational Centre Patna who has been working in Bihar for the past 16 years spoke on misconceptions one have on another place and the importance of dispelling such misconceptions and stereotypes. He shared his experience of how the negative view one had of Bihar when he initially planned to work, was dispelled with the warm hospitality of Bihar and the humility of the people.
A special memento in the form of traditional Naga scarf was gifted to the Governor and the Principal secretary, IAS, Robert Chongthu gave welcome speech and greetings.
The governor in his speech stressed upon the importance of igniting the sense of oneness amongst us and on “ek bharat shresth bharat”. The students also presented a special number.
