Kohima: The joint statement highlights the history of the NDPP-BJP alliance formed back in 2018 under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then BJP National President Amit Shah and was formed under the seat sharing understanding between the two parties with NDPP contesting in 40 seats and BJP contesting in 20 seats.
“The alliance has provided Nagaland with a stable government and carried out all round accelerated development with the full-fledged support of Prime Minister Modi’s Government and Nagaland has witnessed an era of economic growth with the prevalence of a peaceful environment guided by the Common Minimum Program of the alliance”, the statement further reads.

The two parties will continue the alliance with 40:20 seat sharing in the forthcoming Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections.
The joint statement was shared on Twitter by the Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma and comes ahead of the assembly elections in the state in 2023.
