Block-level medical camp held under SNSPA, Poshan Abhiyaan in Pughoboto

Joining the nation on promoting women’s health and overall family well-being, a block-level medical camp under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan and Poshan Abhiyaan was conducted at the Community Health Centre (CHC) Pughoboto, Zunheboto district on September 30.

Organised with support from the District Hospital Zunheboto, the camp brought together a team of medical specialists, including one gynaecologist, one ENT specialist and one optometrist. In addition to specialised care, the camp offered dental procedures and a general OPD service, ensuring a holistic healthcare experience for the local population.

Over 200 patients availed the free medical services during the one-day camp. Furthermore, CMHIS (Chief Minister’s Health Insurance Scheme) cards were successfully generated on-site, enabling beneficiaries to access essential health services under the state’s health insurance framework.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pughoboto Tiameren Chang who graced the event as the special guest emphasised the crucial role of women’s health in societal development. He stated that healthy women are the backbone of a productive society, and families thrive and communities flourish when women are well.

The keynote address on behalf of the medical department was delivered by Dr. Kerekugumle, Senior Medical Officer, CHC Pughoboto. She highlighted the objectives of the twin initiatives and underscored the importance of accessible healthcare in rural blocks.

P Khoaza Konyak, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) Ghathashi ICDS spoke on behalf of the Social Welfare department, reinforcing the need for continued collaboration to improve maternal and child nutrition.

The programme was chaired by Dr. Kavi Wotsa, Medical Officer, CHC Pughoboto.

The camp marked a step in strengthening public healthcare delivery in remote areas of Nagaland and reflects the government’s commitment to achieving health equity, particularly for women and children under the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan and Poshan Abhiyaan.
