Initiated this year itself, the park aims to house rare and endemic plants of the State as well as those of Northeast India. Presently, species of rare banana, zinzibers and plants of medicinal values have been planted at the park. Accompanying these are flowering plant species to add beauty to the spot.
Among others, the park would serve as a place for the employees, research scholars, and PG students to unwind after a hard day in the department or office. The vast open spaces are ideal for walking for health.

The indigenous plant species at the park will be of interest both to the “Researchers” and “Connoisseurs”, whether in terms of study, preservation or simply appreciation of nature.
It is hoped that the park would also serve the important function of conserving the endangered and threatened plant species of the State of Nagaland. From its initiation, the park has been curated and supervised by Dr Neizo Puro from the Department of Botany, Nagaland University.
