BZ Entertainment performs 10 HIV awareness street plays at various locations in Peren district

Peren: Each show followed by free blood tests for HIV and counseling services carried out by NSACS’ MICTC team

The BZ Entertainment, in collaboration with Nagaland State Aids Control Society (NSACS), performed ten carefully crafted street plays in Peren district as part of a HIV awareness campaign. The shows were staged at various locations in the district from 11th to 13th December 2023.

In a press release, BZ Entertainment informed that with these ten performances in Peren, the dynamic Drama and Film Society has now completed a total of 30 shows after having previously staged 20 shows in Kohima and Dimapur districts.

The street plays were aimed to deepen the understanding of HIV transmission, prevention, testing, and the urgent need to combat stigma and discrimination, BZ Entertainment stated while asserting its commitment to continue to leverage the power of creative expression to drive positive societal change and contribute to the fight against HIV.

The strategic locations where the HIV awareness plays were held included Jalukie-B Monday Bazaar, Jalukie Town Taxi Parking, New Jalukie Town, Kipeuzang Bazaar, Peren Town Junction, Jalukie Town Daily Market, Tening SBI Junction, Old Tesen Village, Samziuram Wednesday Bazaar and Punglwa Village Marketing Shed.

Each show was followed by free blood tests for HIV and counseling services carried out by NSACS’ Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre (MICTC) team, ensuring that the audience not only received crucial information but also had immediate access to support and guidance, BZ Entertainment informed.
