In an effort to foster community development and strengthen ties between the security forces and the local populace, C/173 Bn CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) organised a Civic Action Programme at its Coy Headquarters in DEF Camp, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung on 2 December 2023.
The Chief Guest for the event, Ashok Kumar Yadav, Commandant-173 BN CRPF, emphasized the significance of this annual initiative that addresses the needs of various institutions such as schools and youth clubs. Water storage tanks, solar lamps, and sports items were generously distributed to beneficiaries, including Middle School Khensa, DEF School Chuchuyimpang, and Mountain Mover Club Khensa, benefitting the needy people of Khensa Village and Chuchuyimpang village residing near the deployment of C/173 Bn at Mokokchung.
District Organizing Commissioner (Guides), Tovili Wati, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour, acknowledging the important role of CRPF in maintaining national security and lauding the people-friendly initiatives undertaken.

The program, conducted by Assistant Commandant Cuthbert Tongsin Anal, featured cultural expressions, including an Ao Cultural Song by Alemmeren. Ako Nengsang Kokba delivered the Vote of Thanks and presented an Ao Naga Shawl to Chief Guest Ashok Kumar Yadav on behalf of the villagers of Khensa.
Villagers, Youth Clubs, Students, and residents in the vicinity of DEF Camp, Mokokchung, expressed their gratitude, highlighting the positive impact of the distributed items. The event also saw the presence of notable figures, including Ambar Ghosh, Deputy Commandant CRPF, Tiakala Ao, Principal, DEF School, and I Longri Ao, Headmaster Middle School Khensa.
