Cabinet approved to regularize jobs of Contract/ Adhoc employees appointed before 2016

Kohima: Regularization policy will be applicable to the School Education Department

The Nagaland Government will be regularizing the services of contract/ adhoc employees who had been appointed prior to 6th June 2016. This was decided during the Cabinet meeting held on 8th February 2024.

During the meeting, the Cabinet approved the “Policy for regularization of services of Contract/Adhoc employees” which will be a “one-time dispensation for all categories of employees, appointed prior to 6th June, 2016 against sanctioned post, and who have completed 10 (ten) years and above.”

This regularization policy will be applicable to the School Education Department, the cabinet decided.

The State Cabinet also discussed the matter regarding temporary Personal Information Management System (PIMS) and decided that

(i) All regular appointments made against sanctioned posts after Personnel & Administrative Reforms Department’s O.M (office memorandum) dated 27-09-2019 and before O.M dated 22-04-2020 should be reconciled and given permanent PIMS number once the sanctioned vacancy is verified, the concerned appointing authorities of the concerned Departments should be issued a warning to ensure that appointments henceforth must follow due procedure.

(ii) All work-charged appointments made under Power & PHE Department’s after O.M of P&AR Department dated 14-03-2015 and before O.M dated 03-10-2022 should be reconciled as Operation & Maintenance Staff (OMS) and shall be registered as OMS.

The State Cabinet further decided for these staff to be accommodated under the ceiling fixed by the Work Charged &Casual Employees Commission.

(iii) The validity of the temporary PIMS is extended till 30th April 2024 till such time the issues regarding irregular and illegal appointments are resolved.
