The Central Administrative Officer, Ao Region of NSCN/GPRN, Lanuwati Jamir has been taken into police custody for signing a document warning the villagers of 30 Alongtaki A/C against voting for BJP candidate Temjen Imna Along.
It is reported that the arrest was made by the 23 Assam Rifles stationed at Longtho-Watiyim village on Wednesday night around 10:00 pm.
It was stated in the document, “The Undersigned hereby directs all the village that falls under 30 Alongtaki constituency Assembly” “not to vote in favour of Mr.Temmjen Inna Along’s canditure in the coming General Election.”
The reasons stated for the directive were that Along, the BJP president for Nagaland state, was an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and “trying his best to penetrate our land with Hinduism”, it alleged.
Further, it claimed that Along had “without any hesitation said in Nagaland Assembly that Nagas are Indians”, even though the Government of India had itself admitted the uniqueness of the Naga History at Amsterdam in 2022.
