Food Fusion, a new restaurant offering some of the authentic ‘Naga dishes’ alongside galho and regular snacks menu was opened at Kezieke in Kohima on October 20.
The menu features Naga dishes like smoke pork with anishi, bamboo shoot, axone, beef innards, and pork. It also offers regular snacks ranging from noodles to dumplings and beverages to roti sabji.
The passion for cooking diverse cuisines led Shekhonu Rhakho to open Food Fusion in partnership with her friend, Samanier Jamir. Sharing her passion in cooking, Rhakho said she used to volunteer in cooking dishes in churches and school gatherings. Besides cooking the Naga dishes, Rhakho’s interest in experimenting with regular snacks have also been incorporated in Food Fusion’s menu. Having previously managed a restaurant in Kohima for three years has also proved to be an advantage for the self taught Chef, Rhakho who cooks all the dishes offered in the menu
“To start a business of my own has been at the back of her mind for sometime but I could not start due to the lack of fund,” says Rhakho who however pursued her dream by taking loans from the bank to venture into the restaurant business.

Like every Naga parents, Rhakho was also advised by her parents to go for government jobs. However, understanding her own capacity and skills, Rhakho chose the profession best suited for her.
