CAWD inspects ongoing construction of DC Office complex in Tuensang

The Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD), led by Assistant Chief Engineer Er. Sungtiba Amer, conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex in Tuensang on Thursday. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, along with contractors overseeing the project.

Following the inspection, Assistant CE Er. Sungtiba Amer expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating that the work was proceeding in line with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) norms. He emphasized that such inspections by the department are conducted to assess both the progress and quality of ongoing projects, ensuring they meet the required standards. He further informed that the construction is expected to be completed within the financial year 2025-26.

Providing details about the project, he stated that the G+2 storey complex will include parking facilities and provisions for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), such as ramps and accessible toilets. The complex will also feature a conference hall with a seating capacity of 250-300 people.

Er. Amer acknowledged the Nagaland state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio for sanctioning the project, highlighting the government’s special focus on the welfare of the Eastern Nagas. He added that the project was funded under the State Earmarked Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) and expressed hope that the work would be completed on schedule to serve the administrative needs of Tuensang district.

It may be mentioned that CAWD is conducting inspections across various districts of Nagaland to oversee projects under the General Administration Department. The department is responsible for supervising the construction of administrative buildings and infrastructure across the state.

Following the DC Office inspection, CAWD officials also visited the construction site of Tuensang’s first-ever Village Guard (VG) Commandant Office. Er. Sungtiba Amer stated that the project was sanctioned by the state government as the first VG Commandant office. The office complex will consist of a basement, ground floor, and first floor. While commending the contractors for their efforts, Er. Amer urged them to expedite the construction process to ensure the smooth functioning of the Village Guard Headquarters at the earliest possible time.
