As part of the annual Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS) capacity building plan for the year 2024, the first batch of “CCTNS Application Role Based Training’ for police stations under Commissioner of Police Dimapur and Peren District Executive Force (DEF) was conducted from 7th – 9th May 2024 at Police Headquarter in Kohima, Nagaland Police informed in a press release on Monday.
NP stated that a total of 21 officers, consisting of UBSI-5, ASI-12, THC-2, UBC-2, attended the training.
The State police also informed that CCTNS is an ICT project for the police by Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, for computerization of police processes, nationwide integration and data sharing of crime and criminal information with various stakeholders.
Started in the year 2009, CCTNS aims to inter-link all police stations under a common application software for the purpose of investigation, data analytics, research, policy making and providing Citizen Services such as reporting and tracking of complaints, request for antecedent verifications by Police etc.
The scope of CCTNS spans across all the 36 States/UTs in India covering 17,066 police stations as on date.
