The Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches (CCRC) held a Golden Jubilee Proclamation Rally on 9 January that began from Trinitarian Spot Gariphema – the birthplace of Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) – in Kohima district.

A press released from the Media and Publicity Committee of the CCRC Golden Jubilee informed that the event was in consonance with NCRC Foundation Day. The rally was flagged-off in the morning by Rev Thekruzhü Khana, pastor of NCRC Gariphema. The day-long event culminated later in the evening at CCRC Mission Centre Chetheba in Phek district.

During the programme in Gariphema village, Rev Zhowhuyi Nyekha, senior pastor and chairman of the Ordination Board CCRC, recounted the movement of the Holy Spirit among the people and the formative years during the time the Nagaland Christian Revival Church (NCRC) came into being on 9 January 1962.

A pioneer leader himself in the revivalist movement, Rev Nyekha also highlighted briefly how the Chakhesang Christian Revival Churches also came into being and formed the council in 1973 which is celebrating its golden jubilee later this year.

He further also maintained that the manifestation of the Holy Spirit movement has been doing miraculous things ever since its formation in Gariphema village ignited the people which is now spreading across the people and nations.

Meanwhile, Rev Thekruzhü Khana, pastor of NCRC Gariphema, also reiterated to the participants and the congregation the manifestation of God’s work through the movement of the Holy Spirit amidst the darkest period of the Naga political movement and oppressions.

He added the NCRC was formed through tears and prayers anointed by the Holy Spirit and exhorted the people to maintain the tenets of faith.

A speech was also delivered by Dr Chekhwuveyi Khusoh, secretary of the Organising Committee. He extended invitation for participation during the main Jubilee event which will be held later in the month of September.

The programme was chaired by Rev Z David Koza, executive secretary of the CCRC. A short speech was delivered by Chakhesang CRC Council Chairman Vesatso Tetseo.

A special prayer for the jubilee and the proclamation rally marked the morning event.

Later in the afternoon, the participants of the rally proceeded to NCRC Chesezu in Phek district – the first Christian Revival Church among the Chakhesang. There, a prayer service was led by pastor Solhou Sono, vice-chairman of CCRCC and a brief history of CCRC was presented by Rev Sanyi Nyekha.

The rally then proceeded to CCRC Mission Centre Chetheba and the rally flag was hoisted by Rev Z David Koza, executive secretary of CCRC.

A culmination service was held at the Mission Centre wherein Chakhesang CRC Council Chairman Vesatso Tetseo highlighted the changes that Christianity has brought about in Nagaland. He added that Nagas as Christians are endowed with the responsibility for the extension of God’s kingdom and the good news of Jesus Christ in humility and in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

Tetseo further challenged the participants to spread the love of Christ as a member of the Christian Revival Church by igniting the movement of the Holy Spirit with devotion and dedication.

Kühusayi Nyekha, chairman of the Golden Jubilee Organising Committee, extended words of gratitude to NCRC Gariphema for their solemn act of pronouncing parental blessings upon Chakhesang CRC and for the hospitality, logistics and kind act of generosity rendered towards the jubilee celebration. Nyekha further thanked the participants for their enthusiastic participation in the day-long event and also CRC Billy Graham Road, Chesezu CRC and Mission Centre Chetheba for their logistic support.

The programme was led by Rev Zaseyi Veswuh, pastor while the invocation prayer was pronounced by Rev Veshoseyi Rhakho, advisor CCRC.
