Chakhesang Public Organisation and Sümi Hoho strengthens bond of brotherhood through joint declaration x

The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) and Sümi Hoho held a coordination meeting at Chozuba village on May 18, which marked a significant milestone in the efforts to strengthen the bond of brotherhood between the two communities.

Leaders from both organizations gathered to discuss mutual interests, address common challenges and explore avenues for common cooperation, mentioned a press release.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Joint Declaration which recognized the importance of ensuring long term harmony, mutual respect and understanding between our two communities.

In true spirit of brotherhood, the Parties agreed to the following terms for promoting welfare and maintaining, a cordial relationship between the people of Chakhesang and Sumi:

  1. To strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between the members of both communities
  2. To promote mutual support and assistance in times of need.
  3. The Parties resolved to forgive and forget our past incoherent behaviour or actions that has created misunderstanding between the two brethren including the 5th of September 2023 incident at Chozuba Town, which shall be treated as a closed chapter. Consequent upon this, the Chozuba Range Public Organisation’s press statement of disassociation from Sumi Chakhesang Brotherhood shall be withdrawn with immediate effect.
  4. The Parties commit to treating all members of both communities with dignity and respect, irrespective of their background, beliefs, or affiliations
  5. The Parties agree in maintain open and regular communication to address any issues of concerns that may arise. In case of any disputes, a joint committee consisting of equal representatives from both communities concerning the villages/areas shall be established to mediate and resolve the matter amicably.

  1. The Parties agree to advise their members to refrain from spreading misinformation and inflammatory comments on social media as it is detrimental to communal harmony
  2. Any amendments to this Joint Declaration must be made in writing and signed by authorized representatives of both Parties.

The Joint Declaration, according to the press release, serves as a testament to the commitment of Sumi and Chakhesang to promote and strengthen a harmonious and supportive relationship between the two communities for generations to come.

Earlier, Vecito Dozo, Vice President CPO chaired the coordination meeting followed by sharing of views, concerns and suggestions to promote unity and brotherhood by leaders from both communities. The meeting began with an invocation by Rev. Hukugha Zhimo, Sr. Pastor Satakha Town Baptist Church and concluded with a benediction by Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Sr. Pastor Chakhesang Baptist Church Diphupar.
