The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has condemned the NSCN-K (Khango) for the outrageous threat of capital punishment which was issued to a member of the Angami Youth Organization (AYO).
“Capital Punishment is non-existent in the Naga society, and the CYF shall never tolerate such foreign threats that impugns the very fabric of our culture. The CYF shall, in the strongest term, support the AYO in its stand for justice,” stated the CYF in a press release issued by its President Kevesa Khamo and General Secretary Nokho Nyekha.
The Organization also reminded that that the formation of CYF was necessitated in 1995 to protect the community leaders against the capital punishment which was ordered on a number of its prominent leaders at the time, and the assassination of nationalist leader late General Povezo Soho. As such, the CYF stated that it will never remain a mute spectator to threats that hampers peace in the society.

“The CYF is distressed to learn that at a juncture when the Nagas need to be showing solidarity to one another, ultimatums spawned from greed continue to expose how hollow our national movement has become,” it asserted.
Condemning the act, the CYF also expressed solidarity with AYO. “While applauding the courage of the AYO in standing up to the bullies, the CYF urges every right thinking citizens to stand by their decision, so that we can overcome such menace in our society,” expressed the CYF.
