Chang Khulei Setshang and Phom Students’ Conference extends solidarity to ENPO’s total bandh, issues directives for March 8

Following the ENPO Resolution and directives to impose total bandh in the entire Eastern Nagaland against the delay to settle the offer for creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory by the Govt. of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Chang Khulei Setshang (CKS) and Phom Students’ Conference today issued press statements extending solidarity to the total bandh.

In a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Tuensang, the CKS called for total Bandh on March 8 from 6 A.M. to 6 P.M. in the entire Chang area. However, the following are exempted from the purview of the bandh:

1. Students appearing Board Exams

2. Wedding

3. Medical Emergencies

4. Fire & Emergency Services

5. Media

6. Talk Team

7. ENPO/ Tribal/ Frontal Organization leaders with Valid ID issued by respective heads.

In a directive, the Phom Students’ Conference, has directed all its Federating Unit to implement the following instruction/information at their own Jurisdiction. The apex student body mentioned that the ban will commence from 6:00 AM-6:00 PM on March 8 where no movement of the public will be allowed. The ban will also ban vehicular movement except for students’ appearing examination, Weddings, Medical Emergencies, Fire & Emergency Services, Media.

It further directed for closure of all commercial and Educational Institutions (Govt & Private) on March 8. “Non compliance to this Directive shall be strictly dealt,” stated the Phom Students’ Conference urging all the Phom citizens to strictly adhere to the declaration of Public Emergency directives.

“Let us stand together in solidarity as we demand the rightful creation of Frontier Naga Territory (FNT) and assert our rights,” asserted the Phom Students’ Conference.
